We love because He first loved us.1 John 4:19
Thank you for visiting my Walk for the Waiting fundraiser page! Team Stevenson will virtually be walking from Texas this year! This event in Arkansas was our shifting point to focus on what we could do to help the lives of waiting children!
We wanted to get involved we just didn't know where to begin! It started with seeing a sign for the walk in May 2017. Wylie and I never really talked about adopting but we could see that maybe we could help by advocating or volunteering. It was a "bad time" to go to the walk that year but we made it, with 2 young daughters, Becca 2 1/2, Andie almost 1, Wylie completing his Masters Degree. We were "too busy"
We slowly got plugged into how we could help by the resources in place. We've had many obstacles to overcome but we remained faithful to what God was leading us to do. Slowly, trusting we were making the right decisions along the way. Wylie and I had a plan and the plan wasn't ours, we adjusted our sails and trusted God would lead the way.
We're so thankful to God, for all of the positive role models in our life and particularly Jay's life that have advocated and fostered him. THAT LOVED HIM! They are all in his life for a reason, a purpose. God's purpose! That purpose wasn't necessarily to find us!
We, as Jay's parents have to work hard to help guide, teach, connect and GROW together in Faith and Love so we can help him reach his fullest potential, for what God has created him for. We have to allow him to do so by always being there for him. We must be there, every step of the way, by listening to every want and need so we can help him grow to his fullest potential! We've given everything over to the Lord and at times we resisted His guidance.
We're focused more than ever to keep connected with Jay so that he continue to thrive. It may seem like our time is running out because he's almost 18 and will soon be "out of our house" but it's not about that! It's about JAY knowing he has a place to call home! We're always here for him and he knows that! The time is running out for the other waiting kids and families! They're going to soon be out into the world with no direction because they are lost and need to be found!
Jay knows we're focused on God's word to led us in every step, sometimes we just have to step back and regain our focus to know which direction God is calling us in. I've sat back and watched Jay A LOT over the past couple of weeks! You know what I realized? I want to be more like him! He has brought our family closer in so many ways, he has brought some heartache but we got through it! I know that has been God all along! Sometimes I didn't see it, BUT we trusted, we obeyed and now we can move forward!
Jay is ONELESS because our trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved us that he sent his only Son to die on the cross so we could be forgiven for the remission of our sins. We love because He first loved us! Who's going to help the rest of the orphans in this world?? We have to give them a voice and that voice is shared through Project Zero's short films! We found training in The Call! We found the resources through Immerse Arkansas! We were looking! There are many other Christians looking on ways to help and we must begin to share with them! Don't know where to start? Start here, start today praying how we can use our talents.
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: take care of orphans and widows in their affliction, and keep oneself unstained from the world" James 1:27
Thank you to The CALL, Immerse & Project Zero for making THE FUTURE BRIGHT FOR WAITING KIDS, we owe these 3 organizations SO SO much! You know what they want??? They want ZERO kids waiting in Arkansas so that they can branch out into other states! How are they going to do that if we don't help them!
Love, Team Stevenson
